John Mayer has gotten quite a bit of press this week after his recent controversial interview with Playboy Magazine. Most of the attention centers on a few arguably racist comments and the description of his wild relationship with Jessica Simpson which includes the phrase "sexual napalm."Among other topics of conversation, though, was his brief romance with Jennifer Aniston. And the reason he believes they split up.
"One of the most significant differences between us was that I was tweeting," Mayer says. "That wasn't it, but that was a big difference."
Mayer, an avid Twitter user, said that Aniston viewed his enthusiasm for modern technology as a "courting distraction." While he acknowledges that this was not the ultimate reason for the break-up, he believes it was a personality difference that played a major contribution.
While John Mayer continues to deal with the backlash from the interview, in which he discussed his sexual conquests and use of pornography, Aniston seems to be moving on just fine. Her official standing with Bounty Hunter costar Gerard Butler remains ambiguous. Perhaps Mr. Butler can improve his odds if he stays off of Facebook?
