Jennifer Aniston dislikes technology and has attempted to limit it in her life, a source has said.
Speaking to OK, the insider said that Aniston admits that she has a fear of technology, and calls herself "a neo-luddite".
"Jen's friends constantly make fun of her because she doesn't know how to programme her DVR or her home stereo and she hasn't the slightest clue about how to download a song from the internet," the source explained. "She still has one of the old-school, first generation iPods. Jen is like, 'Why do I need to upgrade when this one works just fine?'"
The magazine reports that Aniston hired a personal tutor to become more technology-aware, but abandoned her attempts out of frustration. The insider added that the 41-year-old actress cannot operate her car's sat-nav, is unable to use any Blackberry features other than the phone, and relies on a 10-year-old laptop for computing tasks.
The source said: "Jen swore off texting. She's keeping emails to a minimum and telling friends that if they want to reach her, they should call."
Aniston's high-profile relationship with John Mayer was also reportedly a factor in her adversity to gadgets and the internet. "[Mayer] publicly spilled way too many personal details for Jen's comfort level. She even talked John into deleting his Twitter account."
Recent rumours have suggested that Aniston and Mayer have rekindled their relationship. However, the singer's representative has dismissed speculation about a reunion.
