Arsenal fans aren’t passionate like Manchester City says Nasri

New Manchester City signing Samir Nasri has aimed a parting shot at former club Arsenal by claming their fans aren’t passionate.

The French international claimed that he had always been impressed by the atmosphere created by Manchester City supporters and while he said Arsenal fans were “good”, he added that they lacked passion of their Premier League rivals.

“Man City fans are passionate and remind me a little of Marseille,” said Nasri.

“Arsenal have good fans, but they are not as passionate since they moved from Highbury. I remember when we played against Man City and lost 3-0 and the crowd were amazing. That’s what I want.

“When you play football, you want a good atmosphere and the stadium is unbelievable.”

Nasri will wear the number 19 jersey for Manchester City.

Athletic Madrid attempt to hijack Liverpool deal for defender

Despite reports that Liverpool are on the verge of signing Uruguayan center-back Sebastian Coates, rumours are abound that Athletico Madrid have made an 11th hour bid for the highly rated centre- back.

Suggestions are that the the Madrid side have made a bid of €8m for the 20 year-old, €1m more than the reds’ offer.

Only time will tell if this rumour is anything but that so watch this space for more news.

It is well know that several other European clubs have been chasing Coates so it will be a major coup for Liverpool and Kenny Dalglish if he can lure the youngster to Anfield.

Guardiola : Lionel Messi Is The Best

Pep Guardiola was thrilled with the performance of Lionel Messi in victory over Manchester United in last night’s Champions League final.

The former player and now manager singled out the Argentine superstar for special praise.

He said: “Lionel is the best player I’ve ever seen, probably the best ever. He made the difference. Messi is unique, a one-off. I just hope he doesn’t get fed up. When he doesn’t play well it is because something is wrong with his environment. Let’s hope he can continue playing well.”

Guardiola however, was unsure whether Barcelona were the best club team of all time.

The 40 year old said : “I don’t know,”.

“It is impossible to say. I didn’t see the Real Madrid of Di Stefano and the Ajax of Cruyff. We try to play as well as possible. I hope in the next 10 or 15 years the people will remember them and have enjoyed them.”
