“I LOVE YOU JENNIFER ANISTON,” was carved into the paint of Jason Peyton’s car. The obsessed stalker, whose violent past includes striking his own mother with a golf club and stabbing himself, spent eight days attempting to find the former Friends star in Hollywood Hills, California. Thankfully, Peyton was found and taken into custody on Thursday, July 15 before he could track Aniston down. He had a sharp object, duct tape, a bag and written messages devoted to Aniston in his possession at the time of his arrest.According to Fox News, the actress filed a restraining order against her stalker, who was “laying-in-wait in a location he believes she frequents.” After he was detained by authorities, Peyton was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold. The 24-year-old stalker’s father gave a tip to police after his son informed him that he was leaving to Los Angeles in late June.
LAPD’s Threat Management Unit is involved in the case, which has been deemed as incredibly serious. In the past, Peyton has been institutionalized and he reportedly stopped taking his antipsychotic drugs four months ago. The psychopathic stalker believes that he is related to various high-profile celebrities such as Aniston’s former Friends co-star Courteney Cox, Bill Gates, Jay-Z, Jennifer Lopez, Donald Trump and Oprah Winfrey, among others.
Excerpts from court documents that were filed have been unveiled publicly. Aniston’s attorney describes the defendant as “an obsessed, mentally ill and delusional stalker -- with a history of violence and criminal stalking -- who drove cross-country in his delusional ‘mission’ to locate and marry [Aniston], with whom he believes he is in a relationship.”
Aniston is the second high-profile actress who has filed a restraining order against an obsessed stalker in recent days. Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock filed one against Thomas James Weldon, who has allegedly stalked her throughout the past seven years.
